On Board

A community of world travellers brings with it a spirit not found in many vacation home communities. A quest for knowledge laced with a thirst for adventure binds us. While between ports, life aboard ship resembles life found in almost any upscale community: Golf or tennis lessons, spa treatments, business to tend to, books to read and films to catch up on. Socializing with neighbours, cocktails and dinner, soaking up the sunshine or snuggling into a cosy chair to write a letter home are normal daily activities. Intertwined are lectures, cooking demonstrations, briefings for the next port and bookings to be made for the evening’s opera in Sydney. The World has opened its doors – join us and enjoy the experience of a lifetime.
 
Fitness
The quiet hours of the morning, whether approaching an exotic port or lolling at sea, mean life slows a bit and time can be spent devoted to ourselves. That’s when a brisk workout at The World’s Fitness Studio falls into place with our daily routine. Staffed with professionals who understand every body shape and condition, the individual programs are specifically designed to achieve the goals we set. Some enjoy active leisure time with a swim in the pool while others enjoy water sports from the expansive Marina deck, run laps, catch a round of golf or play tennis at the full-size tennis court. By the time we complete our choice of fitness ritual, we’re ready to take on The World!
 
Banyan Tree Spa
We are the only people in the world to enjoy a Banyan Tree Spa at sea – what an exclusive privilege! The new World Spa offers exotic treatments inspired by centuries old Asian traditional therapies with their high on touch, low on tech approach that is very relaxing and refreshing. We are so fortunate to have such an exquisite haven of peace and tranquility to escape to onboard.
 
Golf
The World Golf Club gives you a great opportunity to improve our game while we are at sea. Aboard The World, there are putting greens, chipping areas, a simulator, driving range and training programs for practice and honing your skills. The Sports and Golf Director is available for lessons and is happy to arrange private golf trips to some of the best greens in the world in many of our ports of call.
 
Activities
As much as we love to explore the incredible destinations, we are fortunate that The World offers us a range of fun diversions right onboard. We eagerly learn about upcoming adventures in anticipation as we travel to destinations around the world. Intriguing and dynamic onboard lectures give us an interesting insight into the culture and history of the regions we visit. We can also watch first-run movies in the Collosseo cinema, shop for jewels to die for at the only Graff store at sea or join in the many socializing events with other members of the community.
